School Overview
CBA located in Altadena at the boarders of La Canada and Pasadena, is the premier ballet
academy in the area, focusing exclusively on ballet.
The success of CBA rests on the founder Crystal Peterson and her highly effective syllabus
and training method. This detailed plan insures that students receive parallel information of
technical application in all classes as well as reinforcement of principals, and internal concepts
that excels the rate of progression.
Students and Programs:
CBA has a diverse student base of ages and nationalities accommodating dancers of all levels,
ages 4-adult. We have two programs of study to choose from during both the Winter and Summer Sessions.
Students of CBA have been invited to dance in prestigious schools world wide including the
School of American Ballet, Kirov Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Royal Ballet, Bejart, Joffrey Ballet,
San Diego Ballet, Ballet Chicago, Miami City Ballet and Alonzo Kings Lines summer program.
The KEY PROGRAM is for the more serious minded students (ages 6+) providing classes in Ballet, Pointe, Floor-Barre and Variations. Schedules are carefully designed in regards to age and level in order to excel the rate of progression and prepare students for a professional career, high level ballet competitions, scholarships and auditions for world acclaimed ballet schools and companies.
The OPEN PROGRAM is for (ages 4-Adults) offering classes in Ballet, Pointe and Floor-Barre through out the year. Specialty classes like Variations are an addition in the Summer. Students may create their own weekly schedules from selected classes appropriate to their age and level or drop in for single classes.
Students at CBA are invited to perform in school productions of original and classic ballets, lecture-demonstrations, school concerts, workshop exhibits including student choreography, and other special engagements.
Facility:
Our facility is equipped with a state of the art professional free-floating sprung no slip marley floor (rosin free), high ceilings, two walls of full-length mirrors, custom wall-mount and portable barres and a convertible performance theatre.
